Moving

How to move your link page
without losing fans.

By the peekin team. Updated . 4 minute read.

The short answer

Build the new page first and test it. Then change the link in every bio on the same day, and leave your old page up with a single button pointing at the new one. If you own your domain, you can skip most of this: point the domain at the new page and every old link keeps working.

Why moving loses fans

Your bio link is not only in your bio. It is in old posts, story highlights, pinned comments, other platforms, collaborators' posts and fans' bookmarks. When you change it, every one of those copies still points at the old address.

If the old page disappears, those fans hit an error and most will not go looking for you. The goal of a move is to make sure every old copy still leads somewhere useful.

If you own your domain, the move is easy

This is the main reason to use your own domain. If your bio says yourname.link, it does not matter which service serves the page. You build the page on the new service, point the domain at it, and every link you have ever posted lands on the new page.

If you are not on your own domain yet, consider making that part of the move. See custom domains for OnlyFans.

Step 1: build the new page first

Do not touch your bio until the new page is finished. Copy across your name, photo, short bio and every link.

Many providers can import your old page. On peekin you can paste a link.me, Linktree, Beacons, AllMyLinks, Bouncy or bio.link address and get a draft built from it, with pictures copied across. Then check every button by hand.

Step 2: test it properly

Step 3: switch every bio on the same day

Change your Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Reddit and any other bio on the same day. A list helps. Doing it over a week means some fans see the old page and some see the new one, and you cannot tell which numbers belong where.

Update anything else you control: pinned posts, story highlight covers, link stickers, Telegram channel descriptions and your email signature.

Step 4: leave a forwarding page

Do not delete the old page. Strip it down to your name, your photo and one button that says something like "My new page" pointing at the new address.

Most free link pages let you keep a page up for nothing. Leave it for months, not days. Old posts keep getting found.

If your old page was on your own domain and you are moving to a new domain, set up a permanent redirect from the old domain to the new one instead, and keep the old domain renewed for at least a year.

Step 5: tell fans

Post a story or a short note that your link has changed. You do not need to explain why. Fans mostly care that the button still works.

Check your link page analytics for the first few weeks. Visits should settle near your old level. If they drop sharply, look for a bio or a pinned post you missed.

If you are moving because a domain was flagged

If a platform has started blocking your domain, a fresh one is the fix, and speed matters. On peekin you can keep a spare domain set up in advance. One tap moves your page there and the old address forwards. It uses one of your plan's domains.

Every plan goes live on a shared address, included. Your own domain is not included in any plan: bring one you own for free, or buy one from £7 a year (£14 on Starter). Plans start at £3.99 a month. See pricing.

Questions

Asked most often.

Will I lose followers if I change my link in bio?

Not followers, but you can lose clicks from old links. Keep the old page up with one button to the new one, or use your own domain so old links keep working.

Can I redirect a Linktree to a new page?

Some link services can send every visitor straight to one link, on some plans. Check what your plan allows. If it cannot, leave the old page up with a single button to your new page.

How long should I keep my old link page?

Months. Old posts, highlights and other people's posts keep sending traffic long after you change your bio.

Check your own page first

The scanner reads any link page the way Meta's crawler does and runs nine checks. It is free and needs no account. If you want a page built this way, the plans start at the price on the pricing page.
